EXTRACT FROM THE RULES 4. THE OBJECT OF THE SOCIETY SHALL BE: To foster the making of models, both working & scenic. To encourage the acquisition of skills, arts & handicrafts & to arrange lectures & instruction aimed at furthering these crafts. The acquisition & provision of a centre of model engineering. To arrange for the exhibition of models. To aid & encourage youth in acquiring knowledge & skill in mechanical & technical pursuits. 5. MEMBERSHIP: Any person may join who has been duly proposed & seconded and has filled in the information card provided and lodged it with the secretary. The committee shall have the power to reject any application pursuant to approval by a general meeting. 6. CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP ARE: Ordinary, Junior, Senior, Honorary, Life, Country & Affiliate members. A Junior member is any member under 18 years. A Senior member is a member aged 65 or more. An Honorary member is any person who maybe accorded membership at the discretion of a general meeting. An Honorary member shall have no vote. A Life member shall be any member who has rendered exceptional services to the Society. Notice of notion is required for the election of life members. A Country member is one who lives outside a radius of 40 kilometers from the club house. An Affiliate member is one who is currently a financial member of the Scale Marine Modellers.
